Nika Grabar (Celje, 1978) graduated from the Ljubljana Faculty of Architecture in 2003. The following year, she began her work as a researcher at the Institute for Architecture and started postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. In 2007, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and continued her research in the field of architecture and politics at the Columbia University, Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation in New York for two years as a visiting researcher. She defended her PhD thesis in 2009 at the Ljubljana Faculty of Architecture. From October 2009 to May 2014, she was teaching at the Academy of Design in Ljubljana and continued to research in the field of architecture, politics, and public space. From October 2010 to February 2012, she participated in the European Culture Project “Unfinished Modernisations”; in 2012, she prepared a research project “Stories of the Slovene Parliament” and was involved in the preparation of the architectural research for the 2013 Slovenian pavilion at the Art Biennale in Venice. Since 2013, she has been working at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana.
